Knob & Switch Knob
The knob is a versatile input/output instrument graphic component which has
been widely used in the industrial applications. The knob is a multi-purpose
and highly customizable graphic component which can be designed for a knob
interface. In general, the knob is used to graphically (visually) adjust or
setup the values of different control variables in the SCADA systems or
Human-Machine-Interface(HMI) systems. Of course, it can be applied in other
fields (like Game Simulators, scientific analytic applications) which need
to setup options or adjust control values. A Knob ActiveX Control can help
you configure its properties to design a round knob that behaves like a slider
or scroll bar to look like knobs on all kinds of electronic and industrial
equipment.
There are two types of ActiveX Knob controls, i.e., the Knob ActiveX Control
and the Switch Knob ActiveX Control, where the Knob ActiveX Control is designed
for continuous variables such as pressure setpoints or velocity setpoints, and
the Switch Knob ActiveX Control is designed for discrete event variables such as
multiple options. Both controls take almost same look-and-feel. By using these
ActiveX controls, User Interfaces cab be greatly enhanced with an outstanding
look. Many powerful properties are provided for you to configure the borders,
scale, panel, indicator and other parts of the knob, then you can design your
own look-and –feel. Mouse operation is the basic feature for user to control
the knob, meanwhile the interface methods are provided for developers to
programmatically to control the knobs.
