Dragonfly Open PlantEngine Center (DOPEC)
Dragonfly Open PlantEngine Center (DOPEC) is a window server/client application
that provides an open and transparent software integrated solution for the
manufacturing plants, automation and business fields. It is the visualization
software for industry automation quality and production monitoring by integrating
and analyzing the real-time process and production data.
DOPEC can help optimize plant performance, support informed decision making and
enhance collaboration through all levels of your enterprise for maximum
productivity and profitability. It enables industrial plants and businesses to
achieve operational excellence by integrating production and operational data into
knowledge to predict and prevent problems.
DOPEC is the DDE (Dynamical Data Exchange) and OPC (OLE for Process Control)
compatible software. Any DDE server and OPC server can be connected locally or
remotely to DOPEC, and all the process and business data variables located in
these DDE servers and OPC servers can be sampled, analyzed and visualized in the
DOPEC system.
Dragonfly has developed a methodology to allow the customers to develop their
own data acquisition drivers and embed them into the DOPEC system. DAcqServer
(Data Acquisition Server) and AEAcqServer (Alarm/Event Acquisition Server) can
be used to embed the customized drivers to access the data, alarms and events
from the processes and productions.
DOPEC collects all the process and production data distributed in all
enterprise-wide plants, centralize and analyze these data in the DataEngine
of DOPEC and can be viewed visually using DOPEC Window Viewer (WinViewer)
in any client computer.
DOPEC is developed from the customer’s perspective and, as such, it is different
from many other software packages. It is easy to set up, use and maintain.
DOPEC is a fast, flexible, intuitive, extensible and user friendly user
interface design system. It uses “What you get is what you see?graphic approach
to configure the application framework, navigation style, and design your user
interface pages. It is a customer configurable graphical user interface design
software which is used to collect different kinds of OPC data, DDE data and data
from DAcqServer which embed the customized drivers in the industrial plants.
DOPEC can be used to design the OPC, DDE, or DAcqServer or their combination based
HMI (Human-Machine Interface) to monitor and control a specific automation system,
or it can be configured as a SCADA (Superior Control And Data Acquisition) system to
monitor all automation devices in the all industrial plants. According to its design
approach, it will bring about low implementation cost and high employee productivity.
